Broken bones! Heartworms! Mange! oh my!

Animals come to the shelter with a myriad of illnesses and injuries but we don't want these to stand in the way of a homeless pet finding a loving home. ARF sponsors medical care to help homeless pets get the care they need to be ready for adoption! 

ARF works closely with City of Mobile Animal Services to identify animals in need of special care to be ready for adoption. We often showcase these animals on our social media channels. By covering vet bills and helping find foster homes, we're able to help more animals find loving homes. 

Mr. Socks was a ten-week old puppy who was brought to City of Mobile Animal Services. The veterinary team quickly discovered he had a prolapse that required surgery. Thanks to your generous support we were able to cover his surgical bill and the shelter was able to adopt him to a loving home!

We also work with other community partners as needs arise. For example,  when another local rescue, Wags and Whiskers, was confronted with a hoarding case, ARF helped sponsor the care for the sudden influx of dogs with significant medical needs.

Marine had two torn ACL's and was in need of surgery and a foster home to recover. We teamed up with City of Mobile Animal Services to get Marine about of the shelter after 205 days. 

Thanks to your donations ARF was able to sponsor his surgery. Thanks to your shares, we helped the shelter foster team find a wonderful foster family who decided to adopt him!
